Google is continuously fighting against spam content and spam links been getting created for a website to be counted as referral point. Its been years now that Google is repeatedly making algorithm level changes to handle these spam links. The recent changes were termed as Hummingbird (the core algorithm change) and Penguin updates (in Sept 2013 & Dec 2013).

Spam sites uses black hat techniques like repeating keyword, buying links from PR sites, placing invisible text on pages etc. All these have been the techniques which webmasters have been using trying to bypass Google’s search result algorithm and getting better rank. This doesn’t work anymore. Google has fine-tuned their algorithm to detect various such techniques and penalize such websites.

Types of Spams

Other than what we discussed about spam site above, there are various other type of spams which hurts the reputation of a website:

Along with performing SEO services, its equally important to keep a check on such spam links and prepare a strategy to get those removed. If Google has penalyzed a website, it may not be visible in search result or would have been rated low. Unless these spam issues get resolved for your website, Google will not accept your reconsideration request and your website rank can’t get improved.
